Musculoskeletal problems during pregnancy
During pregnancy, your growing body can place added strain on your joints and skeletal structure, particularly in the lower back and the pelvis. These changes, although normal and not harmful to your baby, can be overwhelming and cause great discomfort. They can also hinder mobility.
If you have any concerns or pain, we are available to assess your symptoms and treat you accordingly. The earlier a diagnosis is made, the sooner pain can be managed and long-term discomfort avoided.
We are able to prescribe medication to help with pain relief. Additionally, our clinicians are available to provide referrals to a physiotherapist. Through certain exercises, physiotherapy can ease pain, improve the joint position and muscle function.
